Fabric description

Viscose is made from wood-pulp, this fibre has a twill weave which is soft and absorbent easy to handle and sew.  The colours in ths design are muted  and earthy a background of mushroom with coffee, cumin and eucalyptus used inthe design suitable for autumnal palette though if used in a skirt then could be used for all seasons. The weight of this fabric  gives the fabric a good drape  suitable for garments with  fullness, pleats or gathers.

Washing Instructions

Please wash before cutting out, iron whilst slightly damp

Sewing Advice

Sew with a  regular needle 75/10, 80/11 on a medium stitch length 2.5mm. Interfacing should be lightweight such as Vlieseline H180. Tip...let the fabric feed naturally. Topstitching helps flatten the seams. Topstitch close to the finished edge, lengthen stitch to 3.5mm. Hem using a double turn.

Pattern Suggestions

 Both Vogue 1777 and the Merchant and Mills Etta dress would look stunning along with Tilly and the buttons marnie top/dress. A skirt with more fullness like MCCalls 8248, Sew over it Niamh or Camimade aversa skirt would all provide staple garments in your wardrobe, worn with chunky jumpers and boots for the cooler days, a simple top and wedges for the slightly warmer ones an added cardy for when the temperature drops
